出生於美國芝加哥，擁有伊利諾大學課程與教學博士學位（UniversityofIllinois,Ph.D.inCurriculumandInstruction）。曾任教於國中、高中和各大專院校，1999年移居台灣，現在於世新大學英文系擔任副教授，出版多本英文學習書籍。
